Tennis legend Serena Williams, and Coco Gauff are excited as they anticipate Zendaya’s Tennis-Inspired film, “Challengers.”
Golden Globe-winning American actress Zendaya is about to dominate the year with her films. She stars as the lead character in the upcoming film “Challengers” by Luca Guadagnino.
Sportsskeeda reports that Andre Agassi’s former coach, Brad Gilbert, served as a consultant for the film. For three months, he reportedly provided coaching to Zendaya and helped her prepare for her role as a tennis player.
In an interview with Variety, the film’s director Luca Guadagnino, praised the cast. He praised them for working tirelessly alongside Brad Gilbert and honing their skills as Tennis players. About the three actors, Zendaya, O’Connor, and Faist, Luca said,
“They spent like three months working very hard. Everybody – technically, athletically.”
He praised Zendaya’s performance and said they hardly needed to employ a body double for her because she had it locked down.
“She’s wonderful, I mean, wow. We edited the movie and we almost actually don’t use any of her double. She’s so good.”
Zen announced the release date for the film on her Instagram page. She shared the film’s poster and wrote,
“Challengers April 26th, Wishing you all the most beautiful new year ✨,”
It got reactions from Serena Williams who wrote, “So excited for this!!!!!” and Coco Gauff, “😍 can’t wait.”
