Shazam has shared their predictions of the top artists to watch this year.
Shazam never fails when it comes to predicting some of the next-breaking artists for each year.
Hype Magazine reports that the music platform unveiled its annual Predictions 2024 playlist on 9 January. It is “a 50-track selection of artists that are perfectly poised to have a breakthrough year.” Shazam also spotlighted five artists from the list with the potential to break out globally this year and five other artists gaining popularity regionally.
Hype also reports that Shazam’s predictions list for 2023 was the most successful so far. “80% of the artists reached Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 in 2023, across 171 countries worldwide, and 7 of the 50 artists peaking in Shazam’s Global Top 200.”
The artists include Stephen Sanchez, who peaked at No. 6 in January 2023, Ice Spice hit No. 6 in March 2023, and Young Miko, who peaked at No. 58 in April 2023. 13 of these artists also made the Top 10 of Shazam’s national charts.
They include Ice Spice (53 charts), Stephen Sanchez (44 charts), Hotel Ugly (28 charts), Ski Aggu (17 charts), Young Miko (12 charts), and ANGEL DIOR (11 charts).
For 2024, Shazam’s list of five artists with global breakthrough potential includes Bloody Civilian, Flyana Boss, Kenya Grace, The Last Dinner Party, and RIIZE.
The five artists gaining popularity regionally include aupinard (France), JACOTÉNE (Australia), SIRA (Germany), Sukha (India), and Yarge (Venezuela).
