Siya Kolisi’s Fate Uncertain As Springboks Captain, Says Coach Erasmus

Favourites come and go. Captains come and go. What all this suggests is the constancy of change. How people react to the same is entirely up to them.

Well, in the SOuth African rugby universe, it appears there’s a pall of uncertainty over the fate of Siya Kolisi, who led the Soringboks to Rugby World Cup Triumph in France last year.

Siya’s Charisma and on-pitch leadership sinews has endeared him to many of his compatriots across South Africa and other rugby lovers across the world.

Well, while he might have been outstanding as a player and captain of the Springboks, the head coach of the team, Rassie Erasmus, has just pointed out that he is uncertain whether Siya will retain the tole of captain going forward.

While Siya plays for Springboks, he isn’t based in South Africa as a professional player. Therein lies the cause of the uncertainty about his continuing to hold the captain band.

According to the coach, he would have loved his captain to be based locally,m as this allows for more interaction.

With the current pall of uncertainty over Siya’s place as part of the team, all eyes are on him to see what steps he will take in the coming days.
