Notable actors Ayanda Borotho, Siyabonga Shibe and Luyanda Zwane Star have got acting roles in the Mzansi Wethu Telenovela Sibongile & the Dlaminis, and their fans couldn’t be more excited.
It is one thing to be an actor, and it is a different ball game to be just recognised as one and given roles continuously. The current show is of particular interest because it is Mzansi Wetgu’s first original telenovela.
The significance of this is not lost on Shirley Adonisi, director of local entertainment channels at M-Net, who noted that, “As the first original telenovela on our channel, the airing of Sibongile & The Dlaminis will mark a significant milestone in our commitment to deliver diverse and compelling local content.”
For Siyabonga and Ayanda, it is a reunion of sorts, as both had previously starred in the soaraway “Shaka iLembe,” which is currently in the crosshairs of movie buffs in South Africa.
Sibongile & The Dlaminis is produced by Rhythm World Productions, which has some other critical shows, including Komkhulu and Umkhokha. Fans craving to see what the team has put together this time will have to wait until the 31st of this month, by 6 pm. The new show will go live then. SDtay tuned.
