Celebrating New Talents: A Glimpse into Africa's Next Music Superstars

Initiated in 2020, Apple Music’s Africa Rising initiative has been instrumental in highlighting the most promising up-and-coming artists from across Africa. As global interest in Africa’s dynamic music industry intensifies, Africa Rising has played a pivotal role in introducing several of the region’s most prominent rising talents to a worldwide audience. This includes notable artists such as Omah Lay, Rema, Tems, Ayra Starr, and Amaarae, among others.

Renowned for its ability to identify emerging trends, Apple Music’s Africa Rising program is commencing the new year by revealing the ‘Class of ’24’. This group represents the future icons of African music, whose careers are on the cusp of international acclaim. The 2024 lineup features a diverse array of talents, including Tyla, a South African pop sensation; QingMadi, a young Nigerian Afropop artist and songwriter; Bloody Civilian, a Nigerian Afrobeats artist and producer; ODUMODUBLVCK, a Nigerian rapper and vocalist; Mellissa, a Ghanaian R&B artist; and Maglera Doe Boy, a South African street rapper.

These ‘Class of ’24’ artists selected for Africa Rising will be showcased in a forthcoming segment of Africa Now Radio, hosted by Nandi Madida. The episode is scheduled to broadcast on Friday, January 12th.
