Mzansi reacts as Thabo Smol addresses the Black Motion studio equipment saga and the duo’s split.
It has been over a year since former Black Motion member Murdah Bongz was reported to have gone to the Black Motion studio and taken equipment with him. Finally, his former partner, Thabo Smol, has cleared the rumours surrounding their split.
Thabo appeared in an interview on Podcast And Chill with MacG, where he spoke about the incident that led to their split. He credited the pandemic for being part of the reason for it, but he said Murdah Bongz had no idea about it.
According to him, the band suffered financial constraints after the pandemic, but Murdah did not know about it. So, he thought he was being taken for a ride. Thabo further shared that they made little or no money during that time.
Retaliating (thinking he was ripped off), Murdah left the group and, showed up at their studio, and took the equipment with him. Thabo also slammed claims that DJ Zinhle was the cause of their split. He also revealed that he did not press charges against Murdah for taking their studio equipment. Netizens praised him for not speaking poorly of his former colleague and clearing Zinhle’s name.
