The Police Are Looking For Who Paid R800k For AKA’s Murder

The police are reportedly searching for the man who paid R800,000 for the murder of SA Hip Hop star AKA and Tibz.

The ongoing trial of AKA and Tibz’s murder has raised a lot of questions from Mzansi. According to a recent report by EWN, the police are on a search to discover the man who paid R800,000 for the murders.

The publication writes that five of the seven men accused of the murder appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday morning. They are said to be facing two counts of money laundering (recently added to their charge sheet), a double murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and conspiracy to commit murder.

According to reports, Durban businessman Mziwethemba Gwabeni has been named as a central figure in the murder. The state alleges that he received an amount of just over R800,000 (R803,455.00) to kill the South African rapper.

The state also alleges that Gwabeni used his business, Gwabs Mining, to receive the cash and distribute it to the bank accounts of his six co-accused, which includes two men in Eswatini.

Sunday World also reports that the amount was deposited into Gwabeni’s First National Bank account around 14:00 on 10 February, the day AKA and Tibz were murdered.
