Tony Forbes On Arrest Of AKA’s Mastermind Killer

TGOny Forbes, the father of the slain South African rapper AKA, has shared his thoughts on whether the mastermind of his son’s assassination has been arrested.

The police recently arrested suspects in relation to the rapper’s murder. But what about the mastermind? Was he also in the net? Tony Forbes was in court on February 29 when the suspects were arraigned, and he shared his thoughts after the session.

Tony’d gut feeling was that the mastermind of his son’s assassination was not arrested alongside other suspects. But he feels there is a way to go about this.

According to him, since the police point to the mastermind having received R800k bank transfer (via FNB) for the job just hours before the hit, then the police should be able to follow the money trail – and follow it.

AKA was murdered on February 10 last year outside Wish Restaurant in Durban. He’d just stepped out of the place when he was shot at point-blank range. Also killed with him was his former manager Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

An investigation was opened into the incident soon after. But it took a while for the police to make arrests, which had South Africans wondering if the police would not bungle the case.
