Speaking to a publication recently, Mbha noted that men have important roles to play in society and it boils down to them taking charge and having a close relationship with their children so that they can be responsible adults when they grow up.
The point? Children who have close relationships with their fathers end up as better adults and assets to society than children without such guidance and close relationships when they were young.
To drive home his point, he made a distinction between men funding their kids and having a close relationship with them. One can be rich and still have irresponsible children because having money does not translate to the kids developing good character.
In his words, “Men must understand the difference between funding their kids versus spending quality time with them. Kids need attention, patience, love and time instead of money and material things being thrown in their faces.” In his verdict, of course, he had the support of many South Africans.
In reality, what he said has been proven true in real life over and over again. Are men listening?
