It’s a sad moment for the family of the Ukhozi FM veteran news reader, Scelo Mbokazi, as the celebrated radio figure has just passed away.
Before his passing on Friday, June 10, Mbokazi was reportedly ill and away from his beat on the radio station.
His death was confirmed by SABC Izindaba, which wrote on its Facebook page to wish the departed eternal rest and also commiserate with the deceased’s family.
Apart from Ukhozi FM, presenters from other stations have been sharing their shock about the death of Mbokazi, recalling what they remember about him, as well as sharing their condolences with his family.
Among the notable figures that have commented about Mbokazi’s death so far is Lotus FM’s Sareshen Pillay, who described Mbokazi as one of her favourites. She also noted how incredulous she was about the presenter’s death, adding that the newsroom would never be the same again without him.
It is unclear what exactly caused the news presenter’s death as his family has yet to issue a statement about it. Nor are details out yet about his funeral.
Mbokazi will be missed for the humour and rt he brought to the beat as a presenter. So long, Mbo!
