South African disc jokey and podcast host MacG has reacted to DJ Maphorisa’s claim of ownership of sons recorded in his studio, dismissing the “Gqom Waves” star as nothing more than a vampire feeding fat on the works of others.
The whole drama started after DJ Maphorisqa went on Instagram Live to claim ownership of the songs recorded in his studio. By his logic, since he is the one providing the studio equipment for the recording of the song, down to electricity and water, then the masters belong to him.
That claim led to a meltdown of sorts online, as some netizens accused him of milking other artists who are struggling to launch their music careers and might not know much about the industry.
One of those who felt DJ Maphoridsa was exploring people was MacG. Addressing DJ Maphorida on the set of his Podcast and Chill. He was dismissive of the muso, calling him a “vampire.” It turned out some South Africans were thinking along the same lines, too, as you can see from the responses to the clip below.
