It was a moment of great surprises – and alarm – as one of the contestants on American Idol Funke Lagoke collapsed while listening to Lionel Richie’s feedback on her performance.
It was fair run for everyone on the Idols circuit. At some point, the judges divided the contestants into pairs. Some pairs worked well together; others didn’t. Ronda Felton and Funke Lagoke were paired and they performed together.
The judges had huddled together to give their verdict after the two performed. One of the judges, Katy Perry, was looking for perfection and thought the two fell short of what she had in mind.
On his part, Luke Bryan thought Funke Lagoke has grown and him and he would love to see what more she could do. It was the turn of Lionel Richie to speak on their performance and Funke Lagoke must have been under great pressure at the time.
In the middle of Lionel Richie’s feedback, Funke Lagoke was thought to have swayed briefly before reaching her hand to her face and collapsing. She was taken away by medics.
