#VULApresident: Artists Takes Over N3 Freeway To Pretest For 70% Capacity On All Events

Durban artists take over the N3 Freeway in a peaceful protest, asking for 70% capacity on all events.

You know how protests begin? When people get tired of what’s happening and want the Government to listen. The global pandemic and the lockdown has been very hard on many especiallya artists. Some Mzansi artists have come out to state just how much they’ve been affected by the lockdown. The ban on events has drastically affected artists’ major source of income.

Some of the celebs who have spoken out about this include Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai and more. While the lockdown has been eased, large scale events are still banned in the country. This means that nothing has really changed for these artists.

Today, Durban artists closed the N3 freeway on both sides peacefully protesting the ban on events. Some of the artists who showed up for the protest include DJ Chynaman, DJ Tira, Dumi Mkokstad, L’vovo and more. They are asking that the country be opened, enough at least to approve 70% capacity at events centres.

Also supporting the motion are DJ Maphorisa, Shimza and Zakes Bantwini. Zakes has also urged others Mzansi artists in locations including Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Gauteng to join in the protest.
