In almost every award event, there are winners and those who do not win – whom you might call losers. And of course, there is no determining how people would react when they are snubbed for awards. But people react anyway.
it is a different ball game of sorts here, though, with the recent announcement of the Ukhozi FM song of the year. Ten songs are usually in contention to win the prize every year, with one of them taking the crown. This year’s list has been released by the radio station and has attracted quite a bit of attention.
One of those whose attention was caught is the South African rapper and podcaster Zingah. Having gone through the list of ten songs nominated for Song of the Year, he is somewhat puzzled that none of the nominated songs is of the hip-hop genre.
taking to his X account soon after the ten nominated songs were shared by the radio station, Zingah was like, {drop a broken heart emoji here}. You can check out the post below.
He was looking forward to at least one hip-hop joint making the list of ten. The reaction to his post shows he is not alone in his disappointment.
