Panyaza Lesufi Slammed For Masandawana Congratulatory Message

Gauteng premier Panyaza Lesufi slammed for his congratulatory messages to the Mamelodi Sundowns.
It was another happy time for Mzansi as Mamelodi Sundowns were crowned champions of the inaugural African Football League on Sunday. The football team claimed a 2-0 victory over Wydad Casablanca in the second leg of the final at Loftus Versfeld.
Masandawana did a great job overturning last week’s 2-1 first-leg defeat in Casablanca to seal a 3-2 aggregate victory. According to a report by All Africa, “Peter Shalulile returned in style by thrusting Masandawana in front three minutes into the stoppage time of the first half.”
Coach Rhulani Mokwena also had a great time at the game. He delivered the first continental title for Masandawana since winning the 2017 CAF Super Cup victory. The club was crowned the champions of the inaugural African Football League, and their fans flooded the streets to celebrate.
A photo of the celebrations was shared by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi with the caption, “Well done Masandawana! African Champions! We are happy that we played our part as the Gauteng Government! Indeed, Gauteng is the Home of Champions! Let’s #GrowGautengTogether.”
He was slammed for crediting himself in the message. “This is not about you! Congratulate Sundowns, and stop there.
Arrogating yourself undue credit is disingenuous,” wrote @Kideo_Mah. @BIGSAPRESIDENT replied, “Congratulations, Sandawana’s. I was at the stadium wearing a yellow Tommy Hillfiger TShirt. For support. And then they say ‘Thank You To The Yellow Nation For Filling Up Loftus’. Le rona re rata dilo😀😀😀.”
