Cassper had previously released the Hip Hop album “Any Minute Now” in September 2020. The album housed 21 tracks and featured contributions from Zola 7, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Samthing Soweto, Langa Mavuso, Anthony Hamilton, Busiswa, Nadia Nakai, and more. The album earned praise from fans and also gained acclaim from critics. It is called one of the best albums of 2020.

Cover Art

Cassper Nyovest’s cover art for “Solomon” is as religious as you’d expect. The rap star had announced that the album was not named after his best friend Carpo, who is also named “Solomon.” He revealed that the album was inspired by King Solomon in the bible, who was renowned for his great wisdom.

The cover art is entirely religious. It looks like he’s dressed to attend a church service. The inscription “Jesus Rules” is painted on the wall behind him.

Cassper Nyovest’s last Hip Hop album, “Any Minute Now,” was preceded by a few popular singles, including “Good For That” and “Amademoni” with Tweezy. This new album was only preceded by one single, “018.” The song features contributions from Maglera Doe Boy and is inspired by UK Drill. Cass and Maglera Doe Boy had previously performed the song on stage before officially releasing it.

A music video was filmed for the song to promote. The video takes place in a religious setting and sort of set the pace for the project. Hours after the album dropped, fans listed “Balmain,” “Bashimane,” “After 10,” “Ever Changing Times,” and “Candlelight” as favourites tracks. No doubt, they will do well on the charts.

Summary

Cassper Nyovest cemented his reign as an album king with “Thuto.” Years later, Cass dropped the high-rated “Any Minute Now,” and fans did not believe the album topped “Thuto.” However, hours after “Solomon” dropped, fans think it’s already his best work yet.

Cass is Hip Hop, and his albums celebrate the genre in the best ways. Everyone’s already calling it the best album (not only the best Hip Hop album) of 2023. Cass always goes all out on his albums. The rap icon stated that he has nothing to prove because he’s done it all. “Solomon” is Cassper’s statement album, clearly saying he’s still the King of SA Hip Hop.
