For months, fans anticipated the new Cassper Nyovest Hip Hop album. Cassper had previously thrilled fans with Amapiano tunes. His second Piano project, “Sweet & Short 2.0,” was well-received by fans.

Cassper had previously released the Hip Hop album “Any Minute Now” in September 2020. The album housed 21 tracks and featured contributions from Zola 7, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Samthing Soweto, Langa Mavuso, Anthony Hamilton, Busiswa, Nadia Nakai, and more. The album earned praise from fans and also gained acclaim from critics. It is called one of the best albums of 2020.

Cassper Nyovest is also renowned for making hit projects. His “Thuto” album received unanimous praise from fans and critics alike. It has been called one of the best SA Hip Hop albums of all time. Fans believe Cass will continue his dominance with this one.

The album “Solomon” was expected to be released in August but was pushed back to September. Cass revealed that the album was named after King Solomon in the bible. He also embarked on the African Throne Tour with Cassper Nyovest. During an Instagram Live feed, the rappers confirmed that their albums “Solomon” and “I Love It Here” would be released on the same day, September 15. The albums are out now. Here’s our review of “Solomon.”

Cover Art

Cassper Nyovest’s cover art for “Solomon” is as religious as you’d expect. The rap star had announced that the album was not named after his best friend Carpo, who is also named “Solomon.” He revealed that the album was inspired by King Solomon in the bible, who was renowned for his great wisdom.

The cover art is entirely religious. It looks like he’s dressed to attend a church service. The inscription “Jesus Rules” is painted on the wall behind him.

Popular Tracks

Cassper Nyovest’s last Hip Hop album, “Any Minute Now,” was preceded by a few popular singles, including “Good For That” and “Amademoni” with Tweezy. This new album was only preceded by one single, “018.” The song features contributions from Maglera Doe Boy and is inspired by UK Drill. Cass and Maglera Doe Boy had previously performed the song on stage before officially releasing it.

A music video was filmed for the song to promote. The video takes place in a religious setting and sort of set the pace for the project. Hours after the album dropped, fans listed “Balmain,” “Bashimane,” “After 10,” “Ever Changing Times,” and “Candlelight” as favourites tracks. No doubt, they will do well on the charts.

Tracklist & Features

Mufasa’s 2020 album “Any Minute Now” was packed full of tracks. The project housed 21 tracks and featured contributions from several hitmakers, including Zola 7, WESTSIDE BOOGIE, Samthing Soweto, Langa Mavuso, Anthony Hamilton, Busiswa, Nadia Nakai, and more.

In the new “Solomon” album, Cass literally embraced the term “Less Is More.” The album houses just eleven tracks and features contributions from Nobantu Vilakazi, Windows 2000, Alie Keys, and Maglera Doe Boy. Cassper did all the work himself and only brought the guests on to assist on two tracks.

Cassper Nyovest cemented his reign as an album king with “Thuto.” Years later, Cass dropped the high-rated “Any Minute Now,” and fans did not believe the album topped “Thuto.” However, hours after “Solomon” dropped, fans think it’s already his best work yet.

Cass is Hip Hop, and his albums celebrate the genre in the best ways. Everyone’s already calling it the best album (not only the best Hip Hop album) of 2023. Cass always goes all out on his albums. The rap icon stated that he has nothing to prove because he’s done it all. “Solomon” is Cassper’s statement album, clearly saying he’s still the King of SA Hip Hop.
