Anyone know who’s been to or live in SA knows how much we do not joke with our Gospel music. It is as much a part of us as music itself is part of our culture. Over the years, the genre has grown boundless with new artistes and singers emerging by the day, and it has been incredible to see.

Amazing new Gospel songs have hit the airwaves and have even been made into daily worship and praise songs. We couldn’t ask for any better artistes and singers than we have already.

Here is a list of the top Gospel artistes you should get acquainted with and some of their biggest hits.

  • Dr. Rebecca Malope

This is certainly one of the most respected Gospel artistes in all of Mzansi and Africa. With a career spanning over three successful decades, Dr. Rebecca is credited to have sold not less than 10 million album all over the world and in SA. She is regarded as the African Queen of Gospel which she most certainly deserves. She is best known for songs including “Look At Me Lord”, “Why Me Lord”, “Uthando Lwami”, “Ngibe Muhle Nam”, and so on.

If anyone has lived a beautiful life doing Gospel music, then it is this man. He has made us and Africa proud with his amazing music, and even with his refreshing ministrations. He unfortunately could not reach the educational heights we wanted to reach, he decided to follow the Gospel path in order to make the difference.
