It’s a Jumbo musical break for us down here as we vibe with the songster’s “Vela Nkosi” album, a work of potent sonic force.
Jumbo is not exactly out there. In fact, based on his oeuvre so far, one may as well call him and up and coming artiste.
The tag notwithstanding – and as should be obvious from this album – he’s got what it takes to snap the attention of the music-loving public.
“Vela Nkosi” is the first Jumbo album we’ve peeped into. And although we don’t count it the finest body of work we’ve listened to so far this week, we can tell you for free that it is actually work hearing.
The songster creates a memorable listening experience with this body of work. If you know Jumbo as an artiste previously, your faith in his music will be affirmed. And if you’re unfamiliar with him, you’ll certainly have reason to check out whatever might pop from his kitty after “Vela Nkosi.” Not bad, we might say.
