TNS unleashes “Zodwa Wabantu” in collaboration with his pals Luqua, Danger & Bhar. But then, it’s not something that should surprise anyone.
The story of TNS working on a song titled “Zodwa Wabantu” has been on for as long as one can remember. However, the names of Luqua, Danger & Bhar didn’t exactly crop in at the time.
At any rate, there’s the song from the songsters, and it’s worth hearing. On the surface, the song might ring like a glorification of the life and choices of South Africa’s most controversial dancer, but is way deeper than that.
“Zodwa Wabantu” is a song of faith – a shout-out to those who choose to go their way in spite of the missiles of sanctimony thrown at them by the public, in spite of the public’s opposition to the paths they choose to take.
We should think this a song for rebels or those hankering for something refreshing and different. We’re confident the dancer for whom the song is named will be pleased with it – immensely.
How would you rate the song, though? You might want to stream it below and join the conversation by dropping your thoughts in the comment section. Way to go!
