The decision to pull the trigger at close range and end the lives of his wife and son has since backfired, as he faces 30 years jail term for each count of murder.
The news of the verdict caused excitement online, as some people had apparently been looking forward to this day – the conviction of a powerful lawyer who would stop at nothing to cover his tracks. South Carolina’s Attorney General Alan Wilson summed this up when he noted after the verdict that no one, no matter who they are in society, is above the law.
The hearing that saw to the conviction of Alex took place yesterday, Wednesday, March 2, in Walterboro. The disgraced lawyer was present and watched impassively as the verdict was read.
Until his fall from grace, Alex was a personal injury lawyer and pretty influential in his area of practice. But all that is over now.
