A gunshot to the head and celebrity make-up artist, North Macedonia-born Maja Janeska, 39, lay dead. She was found in that state on Friday, December 2, in Bassonia Estate in Johannesburg.
It has been raining questions since then. Who could have pulled the trigger? Did she take her own life? Her family is shocked by her passing but insists she couldn’t have taken her own life.
Until her death, she was reportedly in a relationship with Kyle Phillips, the co-director of Adriano Mazzotti’s Carnilinx cigarette company.
The police confirmed Janeska’s death while also noting that they have opened an inquest into the incident. This implies that nothing is being treated as suspicious by the authorities at the moment.
Getting into more details about what had taken place, the police noted that they had received a call about a person who allegedly killed herself in Bassonia Estate. When they arrived at the place, they found a woman on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head and a firearm beside her. Paramedics who arrived at the scene declared her dead right there.
According to sources, Phillips was in the house when she was killed and rushed into the room upon hearing the gunshot.
