Lady Du Shows Off Tattoo Honoring Killer Kau & Mpura

We remember and memorialize differently. For South African disc jockey and producer Lady Du, there’s no better way to mourn and memorialize her late friends Mpura and Killer Kau than by getting a new tattoo in their honour.

In a recent post to Instagram, she showed off her new ink, two birds, a peace sign and hearts. For caption, she merely wrote “Peace Magents.”

Lady Du is one of those deeply affected by the deaths in the car crash of Mpura and Killer Kau, and she has never hidden her grief.

At Maura’s funeral days ago, she had delivered a heart-wrenching funereal oration that moved many to tears. Mpura, Killer Kau and four others died in an accident while driving to perform at a gig. Being all amapiano artists, the deaths shook South Africa’s piano universe.

Although the dead have since been buried, memories of them are walking tall. And with the ink on Lady Du’s arm, the memories will probably live a very long time. South Africa mourns.

What do you think of Lady Du’s tattoo in honour of Mpura and Killer Kau, though? You’re welcome to join the conversation by dropping your thoughts in the comment section below.
