Pele spent Christmas at the hospital surrounded by his family, who shared images of their moment together on social media while also wishing him the best with his health. The images generated great public interest, with many praying and wishing him a quick recovery.
Pele was battling cancer, as well as kidney and heart complications until his death. He passed away yesterday, Thursday, at the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
