Reports are that they were apprehended in Tanzania and we’re extradited to South Africa to face charges. Magudumana is known as Bester’s girlfriend and believed to have housed him after helping him break out of prison.

Born in 1989 in an Eastern Cape village called Bizana, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana was raised in Port Edward, KwaZulu-Natal. She is a Johannesburg-based South African medical doctor who specializes in Aesthetics including plastic surgery, dermatology, and pharmaceuticals. Between 2014 and 2015, Magudumana worked at Edenvale Hospital and later, at the Far East Rand Hospital.
She founded the Optimum Medical Aesthetics Solutions, an aesthetic and skincare clinic in Morningside, Sandton, Johannesburg. The clinic offers non-surgical treatments. She gained fame for her work with several celebrity clients, including former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi.
Magudumana was featured on the Mail & Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans list in 2018. She was among the Top 20 Most Influential Young South Africans, and was also listed on the SADC Top 100 Young Leaders.

She has been called one of the most accomplished young female doctors in the country. However, her relationship with the Facebook Rapist has made her infamous.
According to reports, Thabo Bester and Dr. Nandipha Magudumana first met in 2006 when the doctor was still studying at the University of Witwatersrand (MBChB and BHSc). They lost contact in 2011, and Magudumana moved on with her life. She got married and had children for Dr Mkhuseli Magudumana. The couple separated for undisclosed reasons.
Also in 2011, Bester was arrested, tried and imprisoned for life on charges of Sexual Assault and Murder. Around 2017, Magudumana began visiting him in prison and their relationship was rekindled.
