In what must have struck many South Africans as one statement too late, Mzansi rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has noted that he deserves to be a judge on the reality singing competition Idols South Africa.
In a tweet yesterday, February 8, the songster noted that he should have been a judge on the reality show because he has always wanted that. But the years have passed and he never indicated an interest in snagging a judging position.
And now, the reality show has announced that it is officially coming to an end after the 19th season, which holds later this year. Yes, the 19th season would also be the final season. The reality show announced just that in a recent post on its Twitter page.
That announcement elicited mixed reactions from South Africans. While some were sad to see it go, some noted that they don’t care much for it because many of those who won the competition had simply vanished and become musically irrelevant, without regular music offerings.
Well, AKA has always wanted to be a judge on Idols SA, but would he get the judging position? He tagged the reality show in his tweet, so it will be interesting to see what the coming days hold.
