Braam Shooting: DJ Sbu Recalls Similar Incident & How He Survived

South Africans were stunned recently when news filtered across the country that a Johannesburg metro cop was shot and killed by a member of the South African Police Services (SAPS). Since then, people across the Rainbow Nation have been sharing their thoughts about the incident.

One of those who have commented about the killing is South African radio DJ and presenter DJ Sbu. He related a similar incident several years ago when he was in his 20s.

According to the MoFaya boss, he and his friends followed a man who was driving recklessly. Their intention, driving behind the white man, was to caution him against reckless driving.

They chased the man down to his residence, where he pulled up and came down, pointing a gun at DJ Sbu because he was the one driving. It was a situation he had not expected and he and his friends had to beg for their lives.

Fortunately, the man did not pull the trigger and the DJ is here to tell the tale. In the intervening years since surviving that road rage, he had become a celebrated presenter ad musician, with a Guinness World Record to his name.

Now, imagine if he had been killed by the white man…
